I have 13 years experience delivering high quality creative workshops in community venues and local libraries. I work with children and adults of all abilities. I deliver workshops on a variety of different digital and creative themes. I also deliver stories and crafts for children under the age of five.
I have Public Liability Insurance covering the delivery of arts and craft workshops and have an up-to date DBS certificate. Session plans and risk assessment documentation are available on request. Scrappy and Recycled Art and Crafts
Left over and recycled materials are a great way to make new things. This workshop explores how you can use scraps of fabric, bits of paper or even plastic rubbish to make beautiful crafts and art work, including vibrant paper birds and creatures, weavings and embroideries.
Digital Art Explorers
An Introduction to creative apps, suitable for adults and children ages over 9. Apps are a great way to develop ideas and create art and animation. This workshop aims to introduce the exciting world of digital creativity; whilst exploring free or reasonably priced apps available to help your creativity blossom.
Pixel Art Making
A relaxing and easy to complete workshop for people of all ages. Follow the pattern or create your own pixel art design. This workshop can be adapted to fit a theme and guides you through the basic features of pixel art whilst encouraging mindfulness. The designs can be made using apps on both mobile devices and computers or with melt-together beads.
I AM A THINKING MACHINE
A creative workshop designed for ages 11 – 16 to explore digital citizenship and identity. During the workshop, young people are encouraged to think about their online presence and attitudes, through the creation of different avatars. The workshop encourages open discussion about the risks and rewards of being online.
Coding Creations for Beginners
A workshops experimenting with projects using educational coding platforms, including scratch.mit.edu, Code.org and Make Code. The workshop is suitable for ages over 9 and aims to be a fun way of learning coding, fostering creativity, skills for the future, important problem solving skills and the communication of ideas.
Stories and Crafts
A story and craft activity designed for children under the age of five and their families. My story sessions have been developed over many years through my work with Libraries. The sessions combines themed stories, songs and making. The session is designed to encourage families to play and learn together, including helping to develop valuable communication, imagination and inter-personal skills for young children.
Make your own Space Mission Patch
A workshop to design and create your own space mission patch. Make a patch just like the astronauts and space experts wear when they are part of a mission. Space patches can be made using a variety of methods – digital, sewing or crafting. The session can be adapted for all ages including adults and young children.
